Pumpkin or Horses?
Saturday, October 2, 2010 ~ the annual Northern Virginia Down Syndrome Association pumpkin picking at Numbers Thirteen Farms in Goldvein, Virginia (www.numbersthirteenfarm.com). What a perfect day it was for my family to be out enjoying our day together. We decided that since it was going to be such a hectic day ~ Marisa needed to meet with her girlfriend to shop for their homecoming dresses & Ethan having to stop by Arcola's Annual Fall Festival...we were going to be quick at this pumpkin picking event. We said that we were going to go on the hayride first and foremost. Afterward, we were going to let Ethan ride a horse & then eat lunch before heading out. When we arrived at the farm, we did catch the hayride to the pumpkin patch. There were so many pumpkins but Ethan was only interested in the horses. He walked straight passed the pumpkins & wanted to crawl under the fence to go see the horses. It was so cute to watch my son and my daughter find the perfect pumpkin but boy, it was very difficult to keep Ethan distracted from those horses! We loaded back onto the wagon and headed towards the main house. Marisa realized that she dropped her phone so I ended up going back to the pumpkin patch with her. Van & Ethan took off to see the horses & Ethan ended up riding on one. Ethan is really fast! He almost made it under the fence but mommy was quick enough to grab Ethan by his shorts. We dropped Marisa off Fairoaks Mall & then daddy at home. Ethan & mommy spent the rest of the day with each other at Arcola's Fall Festival. It was super to be able to ride a train with Ethan. Our memorable moments ended when we had to return home to pick daddy up to go with us to get Marisa.
